Cell assembly
Packaging, electrolyte filling
Packaging
The third stage of cell assembly is call packaging. This is the process to package the pouch cell.
First, we have to make the current collector foils contacted with the cell tabs by a laser.

After this, the stacked cell is positioned in the pouch foil. It is sealed gas-tight on three sides, and one side (often the bottom of the cell) is not sealed in order to fill the cell with electrolyte.
Electrolyte filling
The last stage for cell assembly is electrolyte filling.
In this process, there are two steps, filling and wetting.

Filling: The electrolyte is filled into the cell by a high-precision dosing needle under vacuum.
Wetting: After the electrolyte is filled, the capillary effect in the cell is activated by applying a pressure profile to the cell.
